About the challenge

Since 1995 I have consistently gained an average of 2 kilos each year.  I am now thirty (30) kilos overweight.  Since 2006 I have been officially obese.


The challenge? To work towards a healthy body. And more importantly, learning to maintain that healthy body for life.

To do this, I need help.  Help with exercise, help with fat loss, help with healthy eating, help with sticking to my goal. So, I have turned to a personal trainer, a dietitian, and a blog.

The first challenge:
From obese to overweight in eight (8) weeks - by March 7, 2011.
aka lose 12 kilos (26 pounds).
This has all changed.  After three weeks, I had a tantrum because I gained weight rather than lost it - even while doing clean eating and 3 x PT sessions each week. Sure, I lost some weight in those three weeks - overall 2.1 kilos, but I put on 300grams, which got me angry, which led me to throw in the towell and put back on 1.1 kilos within a week.  I call that emotional eating.  


So, the first challenge?  To run a 10km fun run on 3 July.  I have a training program. I just have to stick with that.  And then, I'll be over the moon.
